Beginnings

Mekeni Food Corporation made its public debut in 1997 after operation more than a decade earlier as a succesfull family enterprise engaged in meat processing. This came at the heals of the Mt. Pinatubo volcanic eruption in 1991.

Surveying the devatation of the natural disaster brought upon the townsfolk of Porac, Pampanga, Felix "Tatang" Garcia and wife Medicia "Ima" Garcia, gathered their five accomplished sons - Adrian, Pruds, Lito, Doods, Nard - and Issued a challenge: 

Working hand-in-hand with the people of barangay Balubad, Porac, Pampanga, the Garcia family focus on the niche that slowly captured a modes share of the meat processing market in the country. The inauguration of its state-of-the-art meat processing plant in 2003 gave more employment opportunities for the once lahar damaged community.
