25 YEARS WORKING TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE MORE! …SILVER FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF MEKENI EMPLOYEES
The 2nd Annual Sports Olympics of Mekeni Employees last July 23 became more meaningful when it coincides with the celebration of the company’s 25th Founding Anniversary. The theme: “25 years of Working Together to Achieve More!” aptly describes the main reason for the celebration and sets the tone for the whole-day event. It gathers more than 1,000 employees and Officers of Mekeni who were grouped in 5 Colors: Red, Yellow, Green , Orange and Blue . Each group is headed by the Executive Officers and Managers as Team Captains. The event took off with the Motorcade from the Mekeni Plant in Balubad to the Porac Gym,located at the town proper, showcasing the talents and creativity of employees thru their colorful floats and banners. Followed by the pre-event competitions namely: Best in Muse and Escorts, Best in Floats, Best in Cheer Dance and Best in Banner using Recycled Materials.
The participating groups were even more challenged when the Committee introduced the Mechanics of the Games during the Event Proper. Who would forget the game called “ The Amazing Race” where it tested the teamwork, physical endurance and mental skills of Employees as they answer every c lue in each station. You need not have a Golden Voice to get the lead in the “Singing in the Rain Game.” What it takes is a perfect coordination and right body posture of the trio! The game entitled “Water Runs Dry” had shown the passion of Mekeni in Emergency Preparedness and Fire Prevention and the traditional Basketball Game was given twists with the : “I Don’t Wanna Miss Game. ” The Blowin’ in the Wind and The “Next in Line” games had proven that each Executive Officer, Manager and Employee is willing to sacrifice and give their share in order to win the Competition.
While each team had exerted their efforts in each game category, at the end of the fun-filled day, the Blue Team headed by VP Adrian Garcia had emerged as this year’s Overall Champion followed by the Yellow Team headed by Pres. Pruds Garcia and the Red Team with AVP Maryzon Cruz and Dr. Eric Cruz as the Team Managers.
The employees were even more delighted when at the end of the Sports Olympics, the company gave each employee a cavan of rice as a token of appreciation for the support and service to the company.
