Mekeni President Highlights Value of Giving Back at Payatas Hospital-on-Wheels Launch

March 28, 2026 - Mekeni Food Corporation underscored the importance of community and compassion as its President, Pruds Garcia, delivered a heartfelt message during the launch of the Hospital On Wheels Surgical Service Center of The Payatas Health Community Medicine in Payatas, Quezon City.

Speaking before partners, volunteers, and residents, Garcia emphasized that Mekeni’s journey as a company is deeply rooted in the spirit of community support. He shared that just as Mekeni grew with the help of the community, it remains committed to giving back in meaningful ways.

“Success is not measured by what you gain, but by what you give back,” Garcia said, highlighting the company’s belief that businesses have a responsibility to uplift the communities that helped shape them.

He noted that Mekeni’s partnership with the Hospital on Wheels initiative has been ongoing for the past four years, particularly through on-ground medical missions in Porac, Pampanga, where the company has supported healthcare efforts for indigenous communities.

Garcia also extended his gratitude to Dr. Jim Sanchez, founder of the Hospital On Wheels program, for allowing Mekeni to be part of the initiative.

For his part, Sanchez expressed his appreciation to both government and private sector partners who have continuously supported the Hospital On Wheels program. He specifically acknowledged Mekeni for its sustained support over the years, alongside other organizations that have helped expand the reach of community-based healthcare services.

Present during the activity were representatives from the Office of Joy Belmonte, as well as the Aguman Capampangan President and other key partners from various sectors, reflecting a strong multi-stakeholder collaboration behind the initiative.
